At IU Creates, IU Innovates’ specialty track for artists, we are an ensemble of makers working across mediums—digital art, creative writing, music, sculpture, and more—attuned to how our work comes alive through interaction. Like bees moving between flowers in a spring meadow, we carry ideas from dorm rooms to classrooms, across campus and into coffee shops, cross-pollinating across disciplines and communities.

Last semester, we turned inward toward making. Our first incubated cohort of artists produced work across twelve mediums, with collaborations leading to original multidisciplinary projects that opened new creative pathways. This semester, we carried our work outward into the broader Bloomington arts scene through public readings, DIY workshops, and live performances.

The presentations you’ll encounter trace where these artists have been over the past four months. Together, we support one another in bringing work into public life—into relationship. In doing so, we create threads of connection that illuminate our surroundings in unexpected ways. Today, we invite you into this web of connection, alive and shaped by your presence within it.
